History of the Department
The Department of Physics was started in 1946 with intermediate science. In 1959, B.Sc Physics was introduced and it is shifted to Vimala College in 1967. There were five science batches in pre degree course and pre degree was delinked from the college in 2001. Degree course in mathematics was started in 1979 for which the department offers a complimentary course in physics.
