In connection with National Mathematics Day, the PG & Research Department of Mathematics, St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thrissur, organized an invited talk titled “The Mathematics of Inspiration: Remembering Ramanujan” on 22 December 2025 at Jubilee Hall.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with ‘Bodhayanam’ Marian Centre for IKS – Bharatiya Vijnana Kendra, aiming to highlight the life, legacy, and mathematical contributions of the legendary Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The invited talk was delivered by Smt. K. L. Swarna, Retired Associate Professor, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur, who shared insightful perspectives on Ramanujan’s inspirational journey, his intuitive approach to mathematics, and his lasting impact on modern mathematical thought.
The session witnessed active participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students, fostering a deeper appreciation for India’s mathematical heritage. The event reaffirmed the department’s commitment to academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and the promotion of mathematical awareness among the academic community.
