Department of Biotechnology Organizes Orientation on BIRAC E-YUVA Scheme


The Department of Biotechnology, St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thrissur, in association with the Placement Cell, organized an insightful session titled “Igniting Innovation: Orientation on BIRAC E-YUVA Scheme” on 29th October 2025 at the St. Chavara Seminar Hall.

The session aimed to inspire young minds towards entrepreneurship and innovation in biotechnology. It highlighted opportunities under the BIRAC E-YUVA Scheme, which fosters biotech-based startups through mentorship, incubation support, and research grants.

The event was graced by Dr. Sr. Meena K Cheruvathoor (Principal), Dr. Anu P A (Head of the Department), and coordinated by Mr. Prasanna R Kovath (Faculty Coordinator) and Ms. Joyna Jayo (Student Coordinator).

With the theme “From Curiosity to Creation, We Nurture Entrepreneurship,” the program encouraged students to translate innovative ideas into impactful biotech solutions.
