History of the Department
The department of Biology was established in St. Mary’s college during the academic year 2020-2021. The department was flagged off with M.Sc. Biology program on 17th March 2021. The course running in an aided pattern has an uptake of 10 students. Students from various disciplines like botany, zoology, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry can procure the degree. The syllabus is designed to suit interdisciplinary outcomes with subjects like molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, ecology, microbiology, biophysics etc. Practicals are also enriched to meet the contemporary research and development requirements. The course follows Choice Based Credit Semester System (CCSS).
